Grace, safety, and dignity are not commodities.
They must not be doled out with an eyedropper,
nor withheld by those with power over others.
A true religion of love does not ask for allegiance,
does not barter redemption for loyalty.
In a society where greed is mistaken for strength,
and capitalism masquerades as creed,
equality becomes heresy.
But greed is a hunger that devours its host.
It cannot sustain.
It cannot redeem.
It cannot love.
Shared dignity is the only cure.
Anything less is failure dressed as success.
